Serves 1

This smoothie  is made using BARLEYmax™ milk. This is a simple ‘milk’ to make and is a great substitute for dairy or nut milks as a high fibre alternative.

 Ingredients

BARLEYmax™ Milk

1 cup BARLEYmax™ flakes

3 cups water

4 medjool dates to sweeten (optional)

BARLEYmax Green Summer Smoothie

1.5 cup BARLEYmax™ milk

1 cup kale leaves (stem removed)

½ cup baby spinach

1/3 cup frozen mango

1/3 cup frozen pineapple

1 small Granny Smith apple, peeled

Method

  1. Place the BARLEYmax™ flakes, water and dates (if using) into a high speed blender and blend for about 1 minute until smooth.
  2. Strain the milk by pouring it through a nut milk bag (or cheese cloth) into a pitcher or bowl. Use your hands to squeeze the milk out of your nut milk bag. Once no more milk is coming out, you can discard the pulp. Refrigerate milk until chilled.
  3. Place all smoothie ingredients into a high speed blender and blend for 30-60 seconds.

Tip: Try cucumber instead of kale and add some avocado for extra creaminess.
